NY Trip Pics - Final Resting Place

I stopped being lazy and posted the entire album in zenPhoto. That would have been a nearly impossible task on Coppermine, with bluehost, since my shared CPU quota would have been too small to complete the file import. ZenPhoto does not require an import phase, it just automagically finds stuff in the upload foler.

The NY Vacation Album is now available with all 271 pics. Here is the link to the ~670MB picture zip file if you would rather download the raw stuff.

Bitbanger.net Moves to ZenPhoto

Coppermine was good while it lasted. I chose it because it was the less bad option that did not involve being part of some annoying social network or a place like Flickr. So, thank you Coppermine for holding your own for a while….

Bitbanger.net now uses ZenPhoto. It is simpler to upload and manage, but it comes at a price: I can’t edit the pics after they are uploaded and the performance is a little slower since they are looking at the upload folder dynamically for new stuff and generating the pics on the fly.

Something like “rotate” would be enough to make me happy, but I guess that will go on the wish list for ZenPhoto or I will keep looking for a better framework.

Anyways, here is the new stuff…

Sandy Lily at Davis Island

Lily is my little four year old rottie mutt. I was lucky to get this shot with with my cell after she rolled in the sand and decided to go for a swim. Davis Island has a great dog beach, it’s a longer trip from where I live, but worth while to let the doggies play.
Here are some additional pics we took at dog beaches around Tampa and some more at Davis Island.

Sailing into the sunset…literally

Today was a very light and shifty day in Tampa day, winds were varying from 10knots to absolute vacuum. But that’s ok, it was a fun day to race with Peter and his Ranger 26. You can see more pictures at the complete album.

Catching Sharks

So, we are walking on the pier in Cocoa Beach and this guy starts talking smack on how he can have these great catches, but he has nothing in his bucket. A couple minutes later there is a commotion with all the tourists yelling: “He caught a shark!”.

That was neat, but his neck is still pretty red….

Very slow start
